Storytellers Cafe - breakfast - July 17, 2003

We had very much enjoyed our visit to Storytellers Cafe for breakfast the previous December, and since we were at the resort early for Disneyland's birthday, we had decided to visit Storyteller again and had made a reservation a few days beforehand.

While I don't care all that much for lunch or dinner at Storytellers, their breakfast is absolutely wonderful. The list of available items is fairly extensive and included the following:

fresh fruit platter (honeydew, cantaloupe, pineapple, watermelon, papaya, grapes and strawberries)

honey yogurt and berry yogurt

smoked salmon

biscuits

country gravy

assorted bagels

scrambled eggs

French toast

chilaquiles

oven roasted potatoes

grilled asparagus

sausage

bacon

eggs benedict

danishes (cream cheese, apple and raspberry)

croissants (almond, butter and chocolate filled)

scones (orange/cranberry and blueberry)

banana nut bread

cinnamon rolls

chocolate bundt cake

muffins (chocolate chip, apple/cinnamon and bran)

omelet bar (with choice of the following ingredients: sausage, bacon, olives, green onions, zucchini, bell peppers, ham, tomatoes, mushrooms, white onions, cheese); whole eggs are also available to make fried eggs

Some of the hot food available at the buffet.

All of the food was absolutely wonderful and often replenished, and regular drinks are included with the buffet. One bit of information that we didn't know last time that our server told us this time is that when the buffet is ordered (items can also be ordered a la carte), all food items are included, not just those that are put out in the buffet. For instance, if you want pancakes or oatmeal (which is not displayed in the buffet), you merely ask your server.

The only stumbling block of the buffet on our last trip is that none of the breads and other baked goods were labeled, so there was no way of knowing what any of it was. This time, I was glad to see that not only had identifiers been placed next to each tray, but the displays were appropriately themed.

No need to guess what everything is.

Chip, Dale and Pluto were again fun to play with. I do enjoy that they stay mainly in the foyer, so that when you want to interact with them, you go to them.

Pluto is part of the fun.

And as in year's past, we were given a dated button for our visit.
