We were in the park today for a Robert Olszewski release event, and at shortly after 11am, we heard the Disneyland Band coming down Main Street. When we looked up to see them, we were surprised and delighted to see that the band had a new leader - Mickey himself!

Mickey marched down to Town Square, and the regular bandleader chose a guest bandleader.

I did not witness the following myself, but rather, the husband had followed Mickey and the band down to Town Square. After the guest bandleader was chosen, she proceeded to lead the band in the song "Bare Necessities".

The husband said that he noticed the band started playing the song more slowly than they should, so he tried to figure out why they were doing that. He noticed that the little girl seemed tired and so was moving her arm more slowly, and the band was actually following her tempo, which is why they slowed down. The little girl then apparently realized that they were actually following her, so then she started speeding up, and they sped the song up as well. The husband said it was a lot of fun to watch.
I've not seen Bandleader Mickey before, but hopefully, he'll be making many more appearances.
Since we were in Disneyana for the product release, we had a chance to glance around a bit. I've collected several of the Disney-themed Precious Moments pieces, and we noticed two new ones that were just adorable.
This little girl has a basketful of dalmatian puppies.
(I just recently saw "101 Dalmatians" and so am currently
quite enamoured of animated dalmatian puppies.)
The little boy just looks so sweet
